Developing well-rounded individuals

At ISA, we offer the world-renowned International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Our low faculty-to-student ratio allows us to focus on individual needs, creating a learning environment that encourages personal, intellectual, artistic, social and physical growth. The strong connections within our community motivate students to aim high, realise their potential and enjoy a rich, well-rounded educational experience. Our inclusive approach values diversity and ensures that every student has access to meaningful learning opportunities and the chance to pursue personal goals.

Students also benefit from a wide range of co-curricular activities, trips and interdisciplinary projects that spark curiosity and nurture individual interests.

Throughout the school, we place strong emphasis on core subjects such as English, mathematics, individuals & societies, the sciences, and Greek. From Grade 1, students are also introduced to world languages, including French, Spanish and German.

Creative and physical development are further supported through courses in art, drama, music and physical and health education, which enrich the academic programme and contribute to a balanced school experience. For students who are not yet proficient in English, we offer comprehensive English Language Support (ELS) to help them build confidence and thrive in the classroom.

Additional language support at ISA

We recognise the rich linguistic and cultural diversity that our students bring to the school community. To support students who are not native or native-like English speakers, ISA offers a dedicated and structured English Language Support (ELS) programme from Grade 1 to Grade 8.

Our approach is inclusive and responsive, ensuring that students receive the language support they need while being actively involved in the life of the school.

All students entering ISA are assessed to determine their English language proficiency. Based on these assessments, students who require additional language support are enrolled in the ELS programme, which provides four study periods per week.

The ELS programme at ISA is designed to build confidence and competence across all four key English language skills:

Speaking
Listening
Reading
Writing

Through engaging and targeted instruction, students develop the academic English skills necessary to access the mainstream curriculum and succeed in both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).

Our goal is to ensure that ELS students can integrate smoothly into their grade-level classrooms, participate fully in learning, and thrive both socially and academically. With the guidance of experienced ELS specialists and the close collaboration of teachers, students are supported every step of the way on their journey to English language proficiency.
