ISA accepts students aged 6 through 11 in the Primary School, located in the self-contained ground floor of the main building. The Primary School introduces its students to a flexible inquiry-based approach to learning which appeals to children`s natural curiosity. The goal of the school is to produce well-rounded critical thinkers. In addition to the core subjects (language arts, arithmetic, social studies and science) which are taught by homeroom teachers, students attend classes in art, music, drama, physical education and foreign languages with specialist teachers.

Students are taught in small classes by dedicated and well-qualified teachers in order to meet the individual needs of each student`s learning style. The flavour of the Primary school is highly international; the programme is designed to meet the needs of families who move frequently from country to country. Students whose English skills need improvement are catered to through EAL (English-as-Another Language) classes until they are ready to cope with regular English classes. ISA may accept students with mild to moderate learning differences, whose needs are met through individual counseling sessions in the Learning Centre, under the umbrella of the ISA Centre for Counseling and Career Services.
