May 3, 2012
Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff of ISA,
Spring is in the air and it is that time, again, to turn our attention to this year’s ISA Spring Fair. However, this year, we have decided to do something different. We, the previous board members of PGA, have decided to sponsor a free Family Picnic Day at ISA! This event will take place on Saturday, May 26, from 3-7 p.m.
All who are interested in attending are asked to bring their own picnic lunches, a blanket and/or their own folding chairs. Make sure to have your hats and sun screen with you as well, as I am sure the sun will be shining brightly!
The idea of this event is to get the families of ISA together to interact and have a good time. Games will be provided for the kids and there will be entertainment. The Lazarou Band will be performing, as well as some other ISA students and possibly faculty. We will follow the entertainment with some Greek music for everyone to join in and dance; so brush up on those Greek dances!
Immediately following the ISA Family Picnic, the drama club will be performing their musical, under the direction of Mr. Anthony Burke, entitled: “The Fantastiks”.
In addition to the picnic, there will be 10 vendor tables available, offered first to any parent of ISA who is interested in selling his/her creations. There will be NO cost for having a vendor table. We will also provide two vending tables for charity; one for Make-A-Wish, and the other to collect for the poor in our surrounding neighborhoods. Please just notify Neophyta from Primary (cmv2000_8@hotmail.com) with your request for a table as it will be first come, first served.
There will also be frappes available, courtesy of the PGA.
Anyone interested in helping the three parents who are organizing this event, are kindly requested to notify me, Cathy Lazarou at cathylazarou@yahoo.com.
We will also be requiring the help of the IB students interested in earning CAS points, so please see your IB coordinators or contact me directly.
We look forward to seeing you all in attendance. Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Cathy Lazarou

International Mums of Athens
We are proud to announce a voluntary team of ISA mothers who have put together a non-profit group called IMA (International Mums of Athens) and whose main purpose is to help people in need within our community.
So far, IMA has collaborated with the Kifissia Municipality and a number of non-profit organizations. IMA takes care of collecting, packing and distributing goods such as dry food products, clothes, blankets and baby requirements, according to the needs of the organization.
In support of their efforts, ISA students and staff have raised funds which were used to purchase general food supplies for Kifissia’s ‘Free’ Community Store.
Please read the attached Letter here sent by the Council in appreciation of our donation and IMA’s generosity.
