FACULTY AND STUDENTS
1. Penguin Awareness Day was Friday 20th January! The Attica Zoological Park is home to a small group of shy little African Penguins that have now made their nests to lay eggs! If you like to draw or paint, then enter their drawing competition! It is a simple process, and the winning artwork will be uploaded on their website as well as win the following gifts: 1st prize – annual card/pass to the AZP, 2nd prize – a free entrance ticket, 3rd prize – a penguin toy from our gift shop! 2. GRADE 7 SCIENCE FIELD TRIP
On Thursday, February 16th, 2012, grade 7 will be going on a field trip to the Athens Planetarium in P.Faliro. Students will depart at 9:30 a.m. and return to school at 2:30 p.m.
3. GRADE 8 SCIENCE FIELD TRIP
On Tuesday, February 14th, 2012, grade 8 will be going on a field trip to the Athens Planetarium in P.Faliro. Students will depart at 9:30 a.m. and return to school at 2:30 p.m.
4. Thursday February 9th lottery – MP3’s for prizes. 1 euro per ticket, students may buy as many as they like.
5. Please email your senior statements for the yearbook by Wednesday February 15th to pr@isa.edu.gr. For instructions please see senior board by the staircase.
6. All grade 7 and 8 classes will be attending an event sponsored by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt which will be held at their cultural centre on Thursday, February 9th, 2012. Students will leave AFTER period 1 and return for periods 8 and 9. (Thanks on behalf of Mrs. Venieris and Ms. Papaioannou)
SPORTS NEWS:
The after-school practices for MS and HS students will not take place during the exam period
CAS NEWS:
Thanks to all 11th grade students and other members of the ISA community who have brought in clothes for donation to the Charitas refugee center. All those who have not responded yet are urged to do so. Thank you, Mr. Economakis.
All students are encouraged to bring food including canned milk to donate to a homeless centre. Thank you, Mr. Economakis
ISA needs a mascot! Students who have ideas about what kind of a mascot our school should have, please talk to Mr. Economakis. The mascot will have a name and it will appear at all ISA sporting events. It will be “looked after” on rotation, by CAS students and their families.
All CAS students interested in gaining hours for creativity and service by assisting in the digitalization of books, that is, in the creation of ebooks, go to http://www.gutenberg.org and scroll down to the section on VOLUNTEERING.
GUTENBERG is a major project that takes books and other manuscripts whose copyright has expired, and makes them available in electronic form. Thank you. Mr. Economakis.

Friday, Feb. 3rd- Melina’s 3 students celebrate their 100th Day of School!
Friday, Feb. 10th- PreK and Kdg field trip to Mavromichali theatre to view play, ‘Spanos and the Dragons’. Buses leave at 9:30 and return at 14:00.
Sunday, Feb. 19th- Carnival Bazaar to take place at Melina’s 3 from 10:30-12:30.
