Final exam: Make sure that you start with the two quantitative tools ( BEQ, Cash flow forecast :SL and Certificate students BEQ,cash flow forecast and decision trees:HL students) and chapters 4-10 with special emphasis on the concepts of the business plan, franchising, form of ownership.All students should read very carefully the marketing module and ch 100-104. Higher level students should read ch 110-129, placing emphasis on interest and exhange rates, inflation, unemployment, multinational firms,pressure groups , business ethics , social responsibility, and the 5 forces of Porter while the SL and Certificate students should focus only on multinational firms, pressure groups, business ethics and social responsibility.finally, HL students should study ch 80-94 with emphasis on the types/methods of production,stock control, location , quality, mergers, and economies of scale, and SL students should focus on types/methods of production , quality, economies of scale and location. Certificate students do not have to study the production unit.

A draft Internal assessment which should include a real firm( for SL students try to think of a problem that a small firm faces and start collecting secondary data and prepare a company profile-MOST , An industry analysis as well as a SWOT analysis and a PEST/PESTEL/PESTG analysis; for Certificate students: select any real company and prepare something similar with the standard level student: HL students should select any small business and prepare a company profile,an industry analysis discussing the market structure (i.e monopoly , oligopoly, elasticities etc), SWOT analysis, PEST/PESTEL/PESTG analysis, c. exam on ch 22, 23, 25,26, 27(HL only).

Welcome back Final review before the final exams. For certificate students: study the Human resources units with special emphasis on Recruitment, leadership, motivation including financial and non-financial motivation techniques, on the job and off the job training, the selection process , job analysis including job description and person specification,SWOT analysis and Management by objectives. For the quantitative part of the exam study the following: Break even analysis, cash flow forecast, trading , profit and loss accounts , balance sheet accounts and ratio analysis including comments on your findings. For both the Certificate and IB Business and management students: I wish you good luck and let your dreams come true.
