ADVISORY PROGRAM:

In a continual effort by ISA instructors, support staff, and administration to support students, the middle school advisory program`s propose this year will be to create and maintain a strong relationship and effective communication between parents, students, and school.

My objective is to create a positive atmosphere in the school and a positive attitude in student life on and off campus. Any feedback, materials, topics, suggestions by either parents or students will be helpful. Each week we will choose a different topic to discuss or issue to address. Students behavior will be monitored, which means praise for positive actions and suggestions for making better choices.

 

CLASSROOM POLICY:

Positive Attitude: Students are required to try their best, think positive, and treat others the way they want to be treated.

Respect: You will at all times respect classmates, teachers and yourself in the classroom and on campus. Bullying of any kind will NOT be tolerated.

Behavior: All students are expected to act in a manner that is safe and appropriate. Disruptive behavior or horseplay will not be tolerated.

Language: You will use appropriate language at all times. Rude, offensive language and teasing will NOT be tolerated.

Preparation: All students are expected to be on time in their assigned seat and working or ready to work, and must have all the necessary materials for class. Students are responsible for making up any work due to lack of materials or absences.

School Dress: Students must follow ISA dress code, which will be enforced by instructor.

Classroom Discussion: During classroom discussion please raise your hand to speak. When others are talking you must LISTEN, and they will do the same for you.

Passes: NO PASSES. Only in the case of a severe emergency will students be allowed to leave the room.

Emergency/Drills: In the event of a fire, earthquake, or emergency you are expected to be on your very best behavior and follow the teacher’s instructions to ensure safety.

Dismissal: At the end of class, students must clean their area, straighten the rows, and stay seated in their assigned seat until they are dismissed by the teacher. Students will NOT be dismissed until they have followed these instructions.

Mobile Phones & Electronics: NOT ALLOWED! These are a disruption to the class and are not allowed under any circumstances.

Students not following the classroom policy will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with ISA policy outlined in the student/parent manual. The teacher reserves the right to make the necessary changes to the classroom policies to provide all students with a safe and healthy learning environment.
